NEWSLETTER – AUGUST 2009

Welcome to the Berwick Tennis Club Newsletter.  It has been another very successful year for the club this year with many new members joining and lots of work being done around the club.

AGM

The Berwick Tennis Club AGM was held on the 29th July 2009 and the following people were elected to the Committee:

A big welcome goes to our newest members of the Committee: Wendy Jennings and Chris Maniatakis.

Congratulations goes to Allison Miller for winning the Rhonda Handley award for all the hard work she puts into our club.  Thanks Al.

Juniors

Good luck to all those teams about to compete in finals.

End of Season Presentations

A friendly reminder that the Junior end of season presentation is on this Saturday at 5.00 p.m.  All teams are requested to attend.  We will then be having a round robin/disco/pizza night for $5.00, all welcome to attend for a fun evening.

 Fundraising

A big thank you to all of those members who turned up for the Krispy Kreme fundraising night.  The club raised over $500, which will go towards some much needed improvements at our club.

We have our Shopping Tour coming up in October and keep an eye out for the date of our Wine and Cheese Sampling night in September.  This is a great way to help out your club and have a lot of fun at the same time.

 Working Bee

A working bee will be held very soon. Keep an eye out for the dates as this is a great way to work off your maintenance fee.

 Fees

A reminder that fees will be sent out very soon.  All members are encouraged to pay their fees by the due date to make sure they are covered by insurance.

Anyone wishing to make a donation to the club to help raise money for new courts, maintenance etc. are encouraged to contact Margaret Visser-Ruiter.

Coaching

Our Head Coach Allison Miller is now running a Mums and Bubs program and a Dads program.  If anyone is interested please contact Allison on: 0408 332929 for details.

Designated Smoking Areas

Please note that a designated smoking area has been set up at the front of the clubrooms for smokers.  There is to be NO SMOKING in the area between the clubroom and court 3.
