Following is a summary of a very successful 2019 for Mudi and Maita Munyimani.
Mudiwa
- was selected as top 4 boys in his birth year 2006, to travel and tour Germany in July 2019. They played 4 tournaments. Enjoyed the experience of travelling overseas without parents. The tennis in Europe according to him, is the the boys there are prepared to to grind it out, can hang in a point longer and they play with quality.
- Finalist in the 2019 Waverley Gold Tournament/Doubles winner
- Represented Vic in July in the under 13 boys Teams event in Qld, Victoria came 3rd.
- Is training full time at the Tennis Australia Academy national Programme
- Played his 1st tennis Europe under 14s tournament, won his 3 rounds of qualifying, lost in quarters of the main draw.
- His Kooyong Team pennant , grade 4, went all the way to the semi’s this season.
- Travelled to Noumea, New Caledonia for his 1st ITF tournament in June 2019, won his qualifying match, and then lost 1st round of the main draw. Great effort for his first ITF. Plans to play more in the ITF circuit in 2020.
- Participated in the National Grass court tournament in October 2019, under 14s Boys- lost in round of 16
- Is preparing for the Dec Show-Down Internationals Tournament at Melbourne Park, starting early Dec 2019.
Maita
- Represented Vic in July in the under 11 boys Teams event in Qld, Victoria came 6th.
- His Kooyong Team pennant , grade 4 went all the way to the semi’s this season.
- Continues to attend the Talent Development Programme at Tennis Australia
- Winner of the Dendy Gold under 12 Boys
- Winner of the Mornington 2019 Under 12 Boys
- Participated in the National Grass court tournament in October 2019 under 12 Boys, lost in the 1st round
- Represented Vic in The Bruce Cup Nationals under 12 Boys in October 2019 in WA- Vic came 3rd
- Is preparing for the Dec Show-Down Internationals Tournament at Melbourne Park, starting early Dec 2019.
